Fair trading fees

Our fees and charges typically increase on 1 July each year. On 1 July 2024, our fees and charges increased by 0% in line with the government’s indexation policy.

Motor dealer licence (individual)

• $1,599.10 for 1 year
• $2,998.10 for 3 years
• $186.10 to add another category to your new or existing licence

Motor dealer licence renewal or restoration (individual)

• $812.45 for 1 year (renewal)
• $2,254.15 for 3 years (renewal)
• $939.35 for 1 year (restoration)
• $2,381.05 for 3 years (restoration)

Motor dealer licence (corporate)

• $910.20 for 1 year
• $1,641.10 for 3 years
• no charge to add another category to your new or existing licence at initial application, renewal, or restoration stage. If another category is added during the term of the licence, a licence reprint fee of $48.20 applies.

Motor dealer licence renewal or restoration (corporate)

• $460.65 for 1 year (renewal)
• $1,198.15 for 3 years (renewal)
• $587.55 for 1 year (restoration)
• $1,325.05 for 3 years (restoration)

Motor salesperson registration certificate

• $637.60 for 3 years

Motor salesperson renewal or restore your registration

• $480.35 for 3 years (restoration)

Appoint or extend a substitute licensee

• $95.15 to appoint a substitute licensee to work for more than 30 days or extend their period of appointment.

Replacing a licence or registration certificate

• $48.20 per licence
• $29.00 for a registration certificate.

Change or remove licence or registration certificate conditions

• $95.15 for a licence
• $57.30 for a registration certificate.
